So our favorite little client is officially one! WAHHHHHHH ok I am sure you have guessed by now I am talking about LHM Photography’s very own staff member, Caroline. ;)

My daughter is ONE year OLD and I am not sure what to do with myself! Over the past year I have done my best to manage being a Mommy, wife and working full-time. Let me tell you it has NOT been easy! I have never felt so blessed, tired and stressed in my life but would not trade it for the world.

To celebrate her first birthday I picked out a Lemonade theme (of coursed with photos in mind.) At the party we had everything from lemonade cake, lemon cookies and lemon slice cake pops!

Like every moment in her life I had big plans of documenting it all… but when it came down to it, I decided to put the camera down (after snapping a few photos of course.)

In my mind I was going to document this day the way I do for my clients… but that just did not happen. Instead I enjoyed the day and my time with family and friends.

As a photographer and Mom, I have to remind myself constantly to forget about the perfect picture and be present in the moment.

So that is what I did!

Here is a look at the photos manage to capture of this wonderful day. I even handed the camera over to a few guests and am glad I did, because now I can be a part of moments that will live on forever.

Caroline’s Dad got stuck in Amsterdam the day before the party, so when he got back into the states he Face Timed her so he could still be a part of the festivities. She was so excited to see him she kissed the phone!

After the party and on her actual birthday I decided to wake up a little early so I could do an actual one year photo session with Caroline and her lemonade stand. I am so happy I did this because the pictures turned out absolutely adorable!
